Redcat Racing RC Nitro Fuel Storage Tip

Leaving Nitro fuel in the sun will cause the combustibles in the fuel to evaporate quicker. That pressure release sound you hear when opening the fuel bottle is evaporated liquids.

Store Fuel in a cool dark place

To lengthen the shelf life of your fuel, store it in a cool dark place. If i’m at the track all day, I make sure to store my fuel in the shade outside of my full scale ride. I also like to bring an inexpensive cooler bag. You know the ones with the zipper. Placing a couple cold packs inside the bag along with the fuel will help to keep it cool, even in the scorching heat. This is an easy way to keep your fuel fresh longer.

How long if kept correct week nitro fuel keep its octane

Hi Michael. Many claim no longer than a year, but I have personally stored some correctly and forgotten about until I cleaned that closet 2+ years later. I tried it and it worked with no significant drop in power. Used up the remainder (about a quart) with no trouble. On the other hand, I’ve used fuel that had been left in the sun weekend after weekend and it was difficult to keep a tune. It will also depend on the quality of fuel to begin with. I hope that answers your question.

Hi, I would like to know in approximate the performance per tank (75ml) of the SHOCKWAVE 1/10 SCALE NITRO BUGGY, say per tank or hour of use. Thank you.
